Photography Portal

Photography is a term used to define the process of capturing either static or moving photos with the use of photographic film or electronic sensor. It is an interesting field of Art which associates the latest technology with human’s creative perception in order to create a visual expression presented by a photo. Nowadays, beside the artistic approach towards photography, it is become also common to use photos for industrial and business related purposes. A photo, despite of its artistic potential, which is achieved by utilizing the elements of designs and principles of organization, possesses informative content that could be use to convey the needed data to the audience.
In order to comprehend the concept of photography, and its development since the existence of the very early photos, it is necessary to review it in different aspects such as its History, the cameras, the styles and the technology.

Photography

The history
The word “photography “is originally taken from the Greek words phōs and gráphein
Which mean “light” and “to write” respectively. Even though the first signs of photography could be seen within 5th and 6th century (with the invention of “pinhole Camera), the first photograph was made in French in1826 by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce whose subsequent effort was on Silver compounds. Niece’s experiments were followed by Louis Daguerre, working on the silver process. This process got popular in the middle of Industrial Revolution. The development of Photography has also been contributed by Sergei Lvovich Levitsky (designing bellows camera), George Eastman (eveloping dry gel on paper- Kodak Camera) and Russel A.Kirsch (Digital scanning process). Color Photography, was explored in 19th century, however the first fully colored plate was not produced until 1907. The exposure through new techniques and inventions led to the genesis of Digital photography.

What is Digital Photography? In simple terms, it means using photography to capture images using digital technology. In the past, photographic film was the main ingredient for photography. But through progress and development, photography has taken the next level in its evolution by utilizing digital technology. With digital technology, you can print, store, display and do so much more with your pictures than you ever thought possible! You can use your equipment to store the images or, if you have a computer, you have the ability to transfer and store your photos onto your computer's hard drive.
With digital technology stepping in, it certainly has changed traditional photography in so many ways.

Camera
A camera generally consists of an enclosed hollow with an opening at one end for light to enter, and a recording or viewing surface for capturing the light at the other end. A majority of cameras have a lens positioned in front of the camera's opening to gather the incoming light and focus all or part of the image on the recording surface.
A camera, no matter in what type, shape and form will always need a lens. A camera lens, or known commonly as photographic lens are optical is the most basic but also the heart of the camera we all use today. Although the lens use the basic principle of convex lens, camera’s lens was significantly shift to different specification depend on the function it serve. The lens’s ability to capture images, both still and motion is why we still implemented till this day. Despite this, camera lens also undergone major changes and modification to fit its role and its need.
Camera’s ability to capture images is through the recording radiation and light spectrum or known as UV lights, the light transmitting to the surface of the photography film.
Conclusion:
Hence, the human developments in every aspect of life would demand the development in the use of photography. A photograph might be used as an informative resource, a piece of art, an advertisement, or simply a sign to remember a memory. Photographers as Artists find their field of interest and capture the moments that they wish to save eternally .To do so, they utilize the latest technology provided and explore the visual, physical and conceptual and even spiritual aspects of the subjects. In fact, what a photo does is that it expresses the static eternity that lies beyond the reality of subjects by simply releasing them from the actual physical movement.

Mortar & Pestle

In creative studies class the lecturer talked about mind mapping too. He brought mortar & pestle to a class , he asked us to create new ideas about the usages of these things. WOW! The students’ ideas were fantastic. When I focused I understood that how can all of us be creative in a special way and how we can look around us with different glasses. By the way, have you ever seen Mortar & Pestle? (A mortar and pestle is a tool used to crush, grind, and mix solid substances) . Now what do you think the other usages of these?

Mind Map

Mind mapping is not something strange to us. We have heard about it many many times in our life. But how many times we use this method in our daily life and what is our perception toward this issue.  We I refer to reliable resources for finding a complete meaning for mind mapping I encountered with many definitions and examples.  For example:
“A mind map is a diagram used to represent words, ideas, tasks, or other items linked to and arranged radially around a central key word or idea. Mind maps are used to generate, visualize, structure, and classify ideas, and as an aid in study, organization, problem solving, decision making, and writing.

novelty.creativity.innovation.invention .........

When I look at these words I can see a same shadow of some words like “create “and “new” in the root of them. When you search for the real meaning of these words you will find out that:
Novelty:
1. state or quality of being novel, new, or unique; newness: the novelty of a new job.
2.a novel occurrence, experience, or proceeding: His sarcastic witticisms had ceased being an entertaining novelty.

Look at these novelty teapots. They are really interesting J

Creativity:

From Human Motivation, 3rd ed., by Robert E. Franken:
Creativity is defined as the tendency to generate or recognize ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems, communicating with others, and entertaining ourselves and others. (page 396)
Three reasons why people are motivated to be creative:
need for novel, varied, and complex stimulation
need to communicate ideas and values
need to solve problems (page 396)
In order to be creative, you need to be able to view things in new ways or from a different perspective. Among other things, you need to be able to generate new possibilities or new alternatives.
Do you think that the designer of this bench is creative?

Innovation:

is a change in the thought process for doing something, or the useful application of new inventions or discoveries. It may refer to an incremental emergent or radical and revolutionary changes in thinking, products, processes, or organizations. Following Schumpeter (1934), contributors to the scholarly literature on innovation typically distinguish between invention, an idea made manifest, and innovation, ideas applied successfully in practice. In many fields, such as the arts, economics and government policy, something new must be substantially different to be innovative
(from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Innovation)

Invention:

New scientific or technical idea, and the means of its embodiment or accomplishment. To be patentable, an invention must be novel, have utility, and be non-obvious. To be called an invention, an idea only needs to be proven as workable. But to be called an innovation, it must also be replicable at an economical cost, and must satisfy a specific need. That's why only a few inventions lead to innovations because not all of them are economically feasible.

Based on all the above definitions , I think being a creative, innovative inventor can be fantastic!

Creativity....

Hey Mr.hey miss.hey..
Do you want to be creative
Read it :
Ruthlessly limit your selection of tools to only the most vital.
Don’t listen to any one and feedback, keep following your own pathhers u
Having a routine is actually not a bad thing.
Lets be perfect
Ignore trends
Ignore the past.

Can creativity be taught? That’s a question without a simple yes or no answer. Creativity may not be able to be taught directly, but what you can get better at is frequently aligning the circumstances of life which foster the greatest chances for being real creative. Creativity is not like a lightning strike, but more like something which manifests itself inside those who learn to foster it and create the right conditions for it to prosper.
Creativity is a mental and social process involving the
generation of new ideas or concepts, or new associations of the creative mind
between existing ideas or concepts. An alternative conception of creativeness is that
it is simply the act of making something new.
Another adequate definition of creativity is that it is an "assumptions-breaking process." Creative ideas Ruthlessly limit your selection of tools to only the most vital.

Just do it ..

Lets try to be creative in our life....
